The Scientific Committee of the Sustainability Professionals Institute of Nigeria (SPIN) provides expert guidance to advance sustainability practice and knowledge across Nigeria and Africa. The Committee supports SPIN’s strategic mandate by strengthening research, training, advisory, and thought-leadership efforts.

Purpose
The Committee enhances SPIN’s capacity to:
Shape sustainability education and professional standards
Lead research and thought leadership in ESG, climate change, sustainable finance, and related fields
Provide strategic advice and global best-practice insights
Support curriculum development and policy engagement
Composition
5–9 members, appointed by the Board of Trustees
Professionals with proven excellence in sustainability academia, policy, industry, and practice (minimum 10 years experience or equivalent scholarly contribution)
Balanced representation across disciplines, gender, and nationality
Tenure
Members serve a 3-year term, renewable for 2 additional years, subject to performance and SPIN’s code of conduct.
